DAY 1: Welcome in Athens. On arrival you will be met by our assistant and transfer to your hotel. Detailed information will be presented to you about all art and music events taking place in Athens during your stay, also a list of non touristic restaurants for the best taste of Athens. Everything will be arranged by our representatives

 

DAY 2: Morning and a walking tour of Athens starts. This is the best way to see Athens, feel the vibes, meet the locals! We’ll start the day by climbing the Acropolis hill where you’ll enjoy a guided tour to Parthenon, the Erectheion & the surrounding monuments (1,5 hour approx.). We’ll then descend to Acropolis museum, in order to have a tour to its fascinating exhibitions (1,5 hour approx.).

Our exploration will continue on by crossing Andrianou Street, the most distinctive street of Plaka neighborhood, full of sophisticated shops & souvenirs. We will then reach the imposing Roman Agora & the Tower of the Winds. A little further down we’ll admire the Library of Hadrian & the vivid life of Monastiraki Square, a place full of people & colors.

We stop for a refreshing lunch break (optional) with traditional Greek street food at a restaurant nearby. We’ll continue our walk through Athinas & Evripidou Streets, the surrounding streets of Athens Central Market. Little shops will be all around us, selling herbs, delicacies, nuts, household items & many more. After having crossed this fascinating commercial triangle, we’ll end up at Panepistimiou Street, where we’ll marvel at the impressive trilogy of neoclassical buildings; the National Library, the Academy & the University of Athens. If we keep walking, we’ll soon reach Syntagma Square, the most famous square of the city. We’ll take some time to watch the valiant Evzones in front of the building of the Greek Parliament.

Having left Syntagma Square behind us, we’ll stroll through the lush green oasis of the National Gardens for a while, an ideal place to relax away from the city noise. Our refreshing walk we’ll lead us to the extraordinary Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place. If we continue for a little while, we’ll reach the Zappeion Hall -an impressive neoclassical building- and afterwards we’ll feel amazed by the size of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian Arch.

Our walk will come to an end in front of the Lycicrates monument in Plaka, in a very close distance to the Acropolis Metro Station. By the time we say goodbye, you’ll have seen the best of Athens in a walk that includes everything; history, architecture, ancient & modern city life

 

DAY 3 : Our representative will meet at your Hotel in Athens and departure to visit the site of Thermopylae, to explore & enter the visitor’s center which recreates the ancient battle where King Leonidas led the 300 Spartans in 480BC. Continue to Plastira Lake and settle into your hotel. Rest of day at leisure to relax, enjoy beautiful landscape and follow our tips for local cuisine specialized in mushrooms ! Overnight in traditional hotel in the area

 

DAY 4: After a traditional breakfast in your hotel, start for a tour to the picturable lakeside villages Kalivia Pezoulas and Neohori and its beautufull botanical gardens. Continue towards Belokomitis village and we travel along one of the most beautiful routes around Lake Plastira. After 1km is the junction that leads to Karitsa and to the monastery of Panagia Pelekiti. built on a rocky peak of the Mountains of Pindos surrounding the area (altitude 1400m.) and considered as a rare religious monument of the 16th century. Evening stop to one of the traditional tavern to try local cuisine such as traditional pasta, dairy products and meats of this area, include Plastos pies with leeks, olive oil and feta, as well as Batzina pies, made with pumpkin feta cheese and corn flour and butter along with some shots of famous ‘Tsipouro’

DAY 5 : Breakfast and up we go to visit the monasteries at Meteora. Admire a remarkable natural formation of sandstone rock pillars up to 400 meters high the 6 remaining monasteries date from the 14th century and form an inspiring combination of nature and spiritual significance. Meteora offers the unique experience of nature’s grandeur in conjunction with history, architecture and man’s everlasting desire to connect with God. During your visit you will be guided through their long history learning many amazing tales as you fill your camera with the majestic landscape views. Visit the amazing National History Museum, explore its collection and meet some of the most amazing mammals of Greece and Europe, also learn all about mushrooms. Proceed to Metsovo, one of the most beautiful and traditional towns in Epirus, situated on the mountains, a place of natural beauty, famous for its cheeses and strong red wines. Stroll around stone alleys and enjoy local smoked ‘Metsovone’ cheese. Overnight in Metsovo

DAY 6 : After breakfast departure from Metsovo and following a scenic route through the mountains of national Park Vikos-Aoos. Will visit the famous Mastorochoria of Konitsa with rich cultural and musical tradition. Continuing the journey will reach the Educational Park Bourazani. Nestled within a fertile valley and surrounded by the Nemertsika, Tymfi and Grammos mountains lies an environment which has become a miniature Eden for several species of wildlife. Observe the animals in their natural enviroment and learn useful information on the animals and their biological circle. Late afternoon return to Ioannina, the biggest city of Epirus and capital of the region, built along- side of lake ‘Pamvotis’. Rest of day to relax and walk around lakeside city. Overnight in Ioannina

DAY 7:  Morning departure. You will be met by our assistant at your hotel for your transfer to your hotel in Athens.
