DAY 1: Welcome in Athens. On arrival you will be met by our assistant and transfer to your hotel. Detailed information will be presented to you about all art and music events taking place in Athens during your stay, also a list of non touristic restaurants for the best taste of Athens. Everything will be arranged by our representatives
DAY 2: Morning and a walking tour of Athens starts. This is the best way to see Athens, feel the vibes, meet the locals! We’ll start the day by climbing the Acropolis hill where you’ll enjoy a guided tour to Parthenon, the Erectheion & the surrounding monuments (1,5 hour approx.). We’ll then descend to Acropolis museum, in order to have a tour to its fascinating exhibitions (1,5 hour approx.).
Our exploration will continue on by crossing Andrianou Street, the most distinctive street of Plaka neighborhood, full of sophisticated shops & souvenirs. We will then reach the imposing Roman Agora & the Tower of the Winds. A little further down we’ll admire the Library of Hadrian & the vivid life of Monastiraki Square, a place full of people & colors.
We stop for a refreshing lunch break (optional) with traditional Greek street food at a restaurant nearby. We’ll continue our walk through Athinas & Evripidou Streets, the surrounding streets of Athens Central Market. Little shops will be all around us, selling herbs, delicacies, nuts, household items & many more. After having crossed this fascinating commercial triangle, we’ll end up at Panepistimiou Street, where we’ll marvel at the impressive trilogy of neoclassical buildings; the National Library, the Academy & the University of Athens. If we keep walking, we’ll soon reach Syntagma Square, the most famous square of the city. We’ll take some time to watch the valiant Evzones in front of the building of the Greek Parliament.
Having left Syntagma Square behind us, we’ll stroll through the lush green oasis of the National Gardens for a while, an ideal place to relax away from the city noise. Our refreshing walk we’ll lead us to the extraordinary Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place. If we continue for a little while, we’ll reach the Zappeion Hall -an impressive neoclassical building- and afterwards we’ll feel amazed by the size of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian Arch.
Our walk will come to an end in front of the Lycicrates monument in Plaka, in a very close distance to the Acropolis Metro Station. By the time we say goodbye, you’ll have seen the best of Athens in a walk that includes everything; history, architecture, ancient & modern city life.
DAY 3 : After breakfast departure to Mycenae and the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. You will see the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon Clytemnestra’s, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure. Time will then be taken for a traditional Greek optional lunch at a nearby restaurant. Before lunch an optional stop in a pottery factory. After lunch through ARGOS proceed to Nafplia the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI and the fortified islet of BOURTZI (short stop).
DAY 4 : After breakfast departure to Argolis and romantic Nafplion, the idyllic small port with attractive narrow street, venetian houses and neoclassical mansions. Time to relax, enjoy walks in the city afternoon departure to visit winery in Argolis. Greeks are know to produce wine since the Neolithic Age – 4000 B.C. – and wine has long been adored, praised and chanted in the name of god Dionysus. We will take a tour of the winery and all the premises and learn about the procedures of winemaking. After the tour we will taste the wines in the underground cellar. Continue to return back to Athens
DAY 5 : After breakfast departure time to relax, and transfer to airport for departure flight
